I met Dave in 2011 while at Fresno State. I learned a bunch about pollution abatement programs, and his direct way to want to focus on health. I invited him to Chile in 2012 and he met local authorities and gave really great talks. I became vice minister and minister of the environment for Chile and really carried out many of ideas I discussed with him. I stayed close to the health community and worked with WHO. Our measures reduced emergency room visits in 50.000 cases per year due to respiratory illness. A lot of this was coming from his influence of linking air pollution to health. As a cyclist, scientist and policy maker, I want to say, we owe a lot to Dave. My condolences.
