Dolores passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, entering the hands of God at the age of eighty-nine. She was born on August 21, 1936, in Atoka, New Mexico, to Cesario Cuellar and Maria Medrano.
Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband of 22 years, Gilbert Parraz. She is survived by her sisters, Alice Cuellar and Horty Pizarro; her brothers, Joe, Ben, and Junior Cuellar; her stepchildren, Godfry Parraz, Evelyn Lara-Lowe, and Ed Parraz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their respective families, all of whom she cherished deeply.
Dolores spent most of her youth in Visalia, California. As the eldest of six children, she naturally became a leader and steadfast source of strength and support for her five siblings. At just eighteen years old, she created a cherished family memory by taking her brothers and sisters to the grand opening of Disneyland in 1955 — a reflection of her adventurous spirit and devotion to family.
Dolores dedicated nearly 50 years of her life to public service. She served in roles supporting the Veterans Administration and the Social Security Administration. Her work eventually took her from California to Washington, D.C., where she spent several years working at the White House. In 1972, she returned to California’s Central Valley and married Gilbert Parraz. Together they built a life in Sanger, California, where they lived throughout their marriage. After Gilbert’s passing in 1994, Dolores moved to Clovis, California. She retired from the Social Security Administration in 2004.
Retirement allowed Dolores to fully embrace the activities she loved most. She traveled extensively, visiting countries such as China, Greece, Israel, and others. She remained active in her community, participating in city-run programs including country line dancing, group exercise classes, and a variety of educational programs. Dolores lived a life defined by faith, service, independence, and devotion to family.
She will be remembered for her strength, generosity, leadership, and the deep love she carried for those closest to her.
