Chris was born on August 20, 1918 in New York to Italian immigrant parents, the youngest of nine children. Chris was a kind, loving, caring man with a gentle spirit. He cherished time with his family and loved being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with his father and brothers, Chris helped lead the family to California where they founded Tri-Boro Fruit Company, growing, packing and shipping wine and table grapes and dehydrating raisins.
Chris always had a positive outlook on life and was a great listener. He enjoyed sharing farming ideas and stories with industry friends and was quick to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. Chris was a Board Member of the California Fresh Fruit Association and remained active in many other industry organizations until his retirement in 1995. He loved golf and his time playing cards and joking with good friends at Sunnyside Country Club. Chris proudly served in the United States Army in World War II and was stationed in Germany with the 100th Infantry Division.
The family also wishes to extend their deep appreciation to his partner and companion Lorinda Helling for her compassionate care and love of Chris for the past six years.
Chris was preceded in death by his wife Mary; wife, Louise; and granddaughters, Julie and Christine.
Chris is survived by his children, Don and his wife Anita, Joe, and Ann; step-daughter, Patricia; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
