Phillis and Family

Our most profound sympathies on the passing of Dan. May the good Lord comfort you at this difficult time. Growing up in Corcoran with friends like Dan gave us a good start in life. Our association was one of mutual respect and great camaraderie. Our caring for one another has grown over the years. Dan and I became friends in high school where he always tried to steer me in the right direction. In between his studies and passion for football, he tried to tutor me in the classes that we had together. As lifelong friends, we enjoyed our Corcoran days with yahoos like Raul Gomez, Jesus Garcia, Bobby Grijalva, Manny Caudillo, Bobby Gonzales, and myself. We could always count on Paco (Dan’s nickname) to give us a good laugh and sometimes advice. His strength of character had a lasting effect on all of us beyond our high school days. His positive attitude prevailed many times as he faced health issues time and time again. As time marched on our group bond became even stronger because of Dan. In many ways he was our quarterback and we will all miss our friend and his ever-ready smile. Rest in peace my brother.

Love
Augie Lerma
