

and attended schools in Sanger area of Fresno County.
His father Lester Hugh and mother Anna Josephine (Barringer) were area farmers.
Donald joined the United States Army in October of 1942,
and was deployed to the South Pacific Theater. He returned home after the war
ended in January of 1946. When he returned he started a
propane business. Williams Butane Service, which served southwest
Fresno and surrounding areas. In 1957, moved his business to
Bass Lake and operated Mountain Gas Company for over 30 years.
Don became interested in real estate school and acquiring s brother's
license. He was also a certified appraiser and notary public. He stayed in the
real estate business until moving back to Fresno area in 2007,
at age 89. Don was a member of the Masonic Center Sierra Lodge as
well as various real estate and Madera County planning organizations.
Don was also famous for his ability to attract hummingbirds and was known
as the "humming bird man" in the Oakhurst area.
Don was preceded in death by his brother, Lester and sisters, Mildred Darknell,
Goen, Lilian Madsen and Lorraine Phillips and his daughter Julie Anna Williams in 1986.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 L Street in Fresno on Thursday,
June 23, from 3:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral service will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 11:00 am.
