Dorothy Gerhardt

Dorothy Jane Gerhardt went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, September 23, 2012, at the age of 91 years. Dorothy was born on June 15th, 1921 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Jane Ann Dudley and Albin Dahlgren.

Dorothy lived in Ventura, California for a time and moved to Fresno in the early 40's where she met Fred Gerhardt. They were married in 1948 and spent 52 years together running the family business and auto racing. Dorothy had a happy and wonderful life, she loved to entertain, cook and garden but the joy of her life was spending time with her family and friends.

Dorothy loved the Lord Jesus Christ and faithfully attended church as a member over the years at First Presbyterian, Westminster Presbyterian and Northwest Churches.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred, her sister, Norma Formy Duval and stepson Don Gerhardt.

She is survived by brother, Robert Dahlgren of Texas, sister, Betty June Faust of Santa Paula; children Linda and her husband, Tom Moody, of Fresno, Rick and his wife, Lynn, of Madera, Jim and his wife, Pam, of Atascadero and nephew, Gary Formy Duval and his wife, Karin, of Temecula; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Thursday, September 27, 2012, from 11:00 am to 6:00 p.m.

A celebration of life will be held in the Chapel at Northwest Church Friday, September 28, 2012, at 11:00 a.m.

The family would like to specially thank the all the staff at Caring Hearts, Graceful Living and Care and Saint Agnes Hospice.
