Dwayne L. Allen passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025. He was born in 1934 to his parents Fern and Edna Allen in Ada, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo of 71 years. He also survived by his 3 sons, Guy Allen, Brad Allen, and Doug Allen. He has 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Dwayne loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Elk hunting was his favorite.
As a young man he was an excellent athlete. He did very well in basketball and track and field. Some of his favorite hobbies were raising horses for show. He also enjoyed antique cars.
In his working years he worked in the lumber business. Eventually owning his own company. When he retired he and his wife moved to Montana until recent years and then returning to Fresno to be close to family.
Dwayne and Betty were faithful Christians his whole life. They were very involved with their church making many friends. They provided a lot of their time to volunteer for whatever the church needed.
One highlight they enjoyed together was to take an afternoon ride in the rain hoping the sun would come out and a rainbow to appear.
He loved his family, his grandkids and great grandkids so much. May he rest in peace.
A celebration of life for Dwayne will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.
