Eddie C. Martinez

Eddie Chavez Martinez was an outgoing type of person who like to go fishing and camping and like to go play pool he was a good pool player .He was a man with a good heart, that would use to say “Do what your heart feels” Eddie was a people person he use to like to talk to people one on one.

Eddie was born in El Paso Texas in Oct 13, 1937 in which his parents came from Mexico Julian and Mickal Martinez. Eddie was raised in California at the age of 8 years old Eddie had five sons Eddie Martinez Jr, Donald Martinez, Dennis Martinez, Johnny Martinez and Joseph Martinez.

Eddie loved to play baseball as a child and as a youth he like working on cars Eddie would be listing to oldies but goodies and working on his cars. He would spend most of his time working on cars, fishing and playing pool with his big brother Tony Martinez and his cousin Robert Yanez AKA “Boyo” and his good friend Charlie Navarro.

Eddie went to the 11th grade and he also went to school for small engine repairs because Eddie like building and repairing car motors so he went to small motors Eddie got along with his instructor John Martinez he would come home taking about what he learned that day in class he also had a nice shop in his backyard.

And then Eddie met this beautiful women name Dolores Mendoza and then they got married in June 20, 1958 and they had five boys and twelve grandchildren and also had twenty-five great grandchildren Eddie was a Chief at the Tradewinds restaurant for 35 years and also worked for the country of Fresno rehabilitation center. Eddie was a religions man he was a altar boy for the catholic church.

Eddie would go to Pismo beach a lot he would get the entire kids load them up in the back of the truck and his wife would make sandwiches and just go to the park at Pismo and let all the kids play at the beach. And Eddie loved dogs especially German shepherds he had couple of white one’s but his favorite dog was named “bullet” he was a house trained dog and very smart Eddie had bullet for about 10 years.

Eddie passed away on March 6, 2013 of cancer leaving behind Dolores Martinez, Eddie jr Martinez, Donald Martinez Dennis Martinez, Johnny Martinez, Joseph Martinez Eddie his Visitation Monday, March 11, 2013 at Tinkler Funeral Chapel & Crematory 475 North Broadway Fresno, CA 93701 rosary at March 11 2013 7:00 pm.
