Eleanor grew up in the Easton area and graduated from Washington Union High School. As a young adult, Eleanor picked fruit and worked in a packing house. She also worked as a waitress for a time. Most of Eleanor’s working years were spent in an office as an insurance underwriter. Eleanor married Clarence David Fischer in 1946 and had two children whom they raised in Fresno. When the couple lived in Paso Robles, Eleanor had a business growing and selling boysenberries in the community. After relocating back to their Sanger ranch, Eleanor worked at Fresno’s Armenian Home for a time. Eleanor stayed active gardening, canning, attending Senior’s groups and church and playing cards with friends well into her later years.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Fischer and Ed Johnson, her son Curtis and her granddaughter Stephanie. She is survived by an extended family including her daughter Christine and her brothers Jim and Bill.
