February 2, 1943 - August 10, 2023
On August 10, 2023 our beautiful mom Elena R. Duarte (80 yrs. old) passed away peacefully, in the loving presence of her family. Elena, the oldest of 6 children, was born on February 2, 1943 in Bakersfield Ca. to Jose and Socorro Duarte. Elena was a loving, kind hearted generous person. She'd give her last dollar to the ones in need, she wore her heart on her sleeve. Elena was a Selfless person that brought joy to those that knew her. Elena was a devoted mother to her four children, and the best Tia to all her nieces and nephews. Elena loved having breakfast dates, listening to her Tex-Mex music. She loved her camping trips to the beach and going to Disneyland. She loved her beautiful life and did not let her disability slow her down!
After her retirement from Fresno County Department of Social Services. Elena turned her time into being "the fun grandma". Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her heart, she called them her "Babies". Elena would never decline an invitation to spend time with the one's she loved. Knowing Elena was an honor, she will forever be loved and missed deeply. Elena was the true Hallmark of her family.

A visitation for Elena will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Calaveras Chapel and a rosary service will occur at 6:00 pm., 1605 L Street, Fresno, CA 93721.
Funeral Service will occur Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 10:30 am at St John's Cathedral, 2814 Mariposa St, Fresno, CA 93721. Interment at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 South Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
Serving as pallbearers are Anthony Loera, Louie Loera Jr., Michael Loera, Andrew Loera, Joseph Santos and Michael Alvarez.
