Elizabeth Mable Marcelli

Elizabeth "Betty" Mable Marcelli passed away into the arms of the Lord on Friday, October 13, 2017, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the first born at home to Michael and Florence Chielpegian on Kearney Boulevard in Fresno, CA, on May 20, 1928.

She attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Edison High School in 1946. Soon after, she graduated from cosmetology school and began working. Her first employment was working at her aunt Isabell's Palm Center Beauty Shop in central Fresno, where she worked for several years. After the birth of her second child, she decided it was best for her family to stay at home full time.

She helped her husband with many projects including their Marcelli Ceramics business, where they sculptured, painted, and sold holiday decorations.

Betty worked for ten summers at the Del Monte Cannery in Kingsburg, CA, during the peach season after her children were all of school age. She took pride in being the "house mom" for her son's fraternity, and the high school "band mom" for her daughter Rosemary.

She was a faithful member of Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church for over 61 years.

Betty had an eye for detail and was very meticulous in all her hobbies. She had a love for baking that showed through all her Armenian and Italian dishes. Her other love was crafting for the many weddings she helped at, including her children's, many cousins, nieces, and her two granddaughters, Nikki and Lauren.

She was preceded in death by Joseph Marcelli, her loving husband of 56 years, who she dearly loved and missed; her parents, Michael and Florence Chielpegian; and her beloved siblings, Doris and Elliott Chielpegian.

She is survived by her son, Mark Marcelli and his wife Tassa; daughters, Doris Machado, Rosemary Satterlee and her husband Tim, and Michelle Martinez. She was beloved grandmother of Kimberly, Krista, and Kyle Marcelli, Joseph and Nicholas Machado, Nikki Mills and her husband Bobby, Lauren Beliew and her husband Anthony, Stephanie Satterlee, and Elizabeth Mehling; and great-grandmother of Austin, Ashley, and Alyssa Mills, Weston Beliew, and Emerson Marcelli. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Agnes Chielpegian, Tessie, Laura, and LaVera Marcelli; brothers-in-law, Tony and Albert Marcelli; nephews, Michael and Mark Chielpegian; and her many other loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at The Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
