She found her life partner, Herman Kisling, at a ballroom because she had heard that he was a great dancer. They were married on May 27, 1950 in Las Vegas. Emma had a career as a sales clerk for Cooper’s and Gottschalk’s Department Stores.
She loved her family and treasured the time spent with them. She liked to sew, knit and embroider. Family members have many of her afghans, tea towels and pillow cases.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers Leroy and Jim Scheidt.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Melton and her husband Charles and Marlene Jensen and her husband Dan. 5 grandchildren also survive her: Jeff and Jodie Jensen, Eric and Tiffanie Jensen, Rebecca and John Heywood, Stephanie and Andrew Graziani, and Charles Andrew Melton. She was GG to 8 great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hope Lutheran Church or the California Armenian Home.
