1929 – 2019
Resident of Fresno
A very loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Eva, 89, passed away March 22 surrounded by family. Eva was married to the love of her life Daniel Evangelho for 36 years until he passed away in 1984. She later married Thomas Beggs until his death in 2009. “Vava,” as her family knew her, was born and raised on a dairy farm in Waukena, California and subsequently moved to Fresno with her husband, Danny, where they raised five children. She was a meticulous homemaker and an exceptional baker. She turned her love of baking into a vocation for Fresno Unified School’s food service. After retirement, her ambitious nature led her to become a nail technician. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church for over sixty years where she sang in the choir. Besides adoring her large family, she enjoyed baking, music, crocheting, and exercise. She was always involved with family activities and loved to watch her grandkids’ sporting events. Eva placed her faith and family above all else and is survived by her children Dan (Valerie), Rosanne Spencer (Roger), Michael (Vicki), Greg (Carla), Patrick (Valerie), her 19 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. Services include a Rosary, Tuesday, April 2, 7pm at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 1525 E Saginaw Way, Fresno; Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday April 3, 11am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 2838 N West Avenue, Fresno. Reception follows immediately at the Church Hall, concluding with Graveside services at Saint Peter’s Cemetery, 264 N Blythe Avenue, Fresno
