Flemmie Palermo, age 89, of Fresno, CA, passed away on April 17, 2018. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and was married to Michael Palermo, who passed away in 1989.
Flemmie was devoted in everything that she did in life. As a daughter, sister, and wife, she radiated love to those around her. Spending time with family was an essential part of her life up to adulthood, including Sunday dinners with her dad, mom, and brother. Flemmie began work at Zacky Farms in 1957 where she continued to work for 45 years until her retirement in 2002. Not only was Flemmie devoted as an employee, but as a wife to her husband Mike. They were married in 1956 and remained together happily until his passing in 1989. While she never had children, she was like a mother to so many, including her niece, Valerie and her children, and her nephew, Rick and his family. She was the loving owner of her dog, Elizabeth, who she enjoyed taking great care of. Flemmie developed a love for cooking at a young age through her mother and their traditional Italian recipes and continued that passion throughout her life. She spent her life enjoying time with family and friends, watching Giants games, and going on her weekly visits to the beauty shop. She died peacefully at Copper River Retirement Home in April of 2018.
Flemmie is survived by her niece, Valerie Morris and Valerie's husband, Reynold, their children, Ashley, Elizabeth, and Matthew Morris, her nephew, Rick Palermo and Rick's wife, Marsha, their children, Steven and Miya, and extended family.
