OBITUARY
Filomena Reyes Alejandrino
September 12, 1918 – February 7, 2013
Filomena was born to Francisco and Maria Reyes on September 12, 1918. She was quiet, simple and well-liked. She married at the very young age of 18, had seven children, Jesus, Luz, Pablito, Cecilia, Martina, Rodolfo, and Antonio.
"Ebang," as her family and friends call her, was easily the ideal wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother, a family would ever wish for. She was caring, nurturing and patient. She was the Alejandrino family's light, guide and peacemaker. Her warmth and generous character was an inspiration to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Filomena lived a long, happy, fruitful life. She took care of most of her twenty-two grandchildren. Her loving nature kept the family close together. She remembered everybody's birthday, and had a story or two for each member.
Our dear Filomena will surely be missed. she will always be remembered and will always be in our hearts!

Grandma, I'm going to miss you so much! I remember you would always let me take a nap whenever I would stay over. I love you so much, and I'm so glad that you get to rest with Grandpa and your two boys. I'm going to make you proud Grandma and finish school. I love you Grandma, and I hope you continue to watch over all of us in heaven.

Lola, you are a treasure that the Alejandrino family revers. Throughout your life you've shown us grace, beauty, kindness and unconditional love. Thank you. I will miss the times we've spent together, especially when we watched basketball and you would always ask if the player was Kobe even when the Lakers are not playing. I will cherish the moments when we watched boxing and you're always rooting for Pacquiao saying “ sige suntukin mo!”. I will miss the stories you tell Mark about my childhood over and over again sometimes twice or three times in one day. I will miss the times when you massaged my legs whenever I say I am tired from work. I will miss our laughter together especially when we watch funny shows on TV. Words cannot define the pain of losing you but I am grateful that the Lord blessed you with a long and fruitful life that you shared with everyone. In your passing, I take comfort knowing that you are now with our Creator, free from pain or worries. Please continue to be our light and guide us from above. I love you Lola.

I love you gramma! Thank you for everything! I know you're in a better place- at our Lord's side to look over us and guide us.
The way you lived your life is an inspiration to our entire family. You set the example of how to love and how to be a family. The way you raised your children and how you raised us (your grandkids) sets an example for me and how to raise my kids in the future. I hope I can make you proud, and I hope that my kids will see your spirit and love through me. Please continue to look over us and guide us. I will miss you gramma! It brings me peace to know that you lived a long and full life filled with so much love. You have left your mark on all of us, and I know I will continue to keep you with me.

Long years lived, many lives touched and tons of memories to reminisce. A journey well traveled and you gracefully did it all in the most humbling ways. Being informed about this, truly is a good feeling to be able to share this moment with you for the last time. I always had a good laugh whenever we spoke on the phone on different ocassions. Sail on tiyang.... my thoughts and prayers are with you and REST IN PEACE!!!

I am just very grateful for everything- you have given me your unconditional love. I guess everybody will agree with me when I say that we are very lucky to have you. If we have forgotten to show our gratitude for all the things you did. We are thanking you now and we are hoping you knew all along how much you meant to us. We'll keep you always in our hearts because we know that is where you should be. You were the perfect Lola to us. You will be dearly missed. We love you so much Lola Ebang. LOVE and LOLA may have different meanings, but the happiness they bring are the same. I don't have the right to say that you were perfect, for God alone is perfect... but I have every right to say that you were the best LOLA one could ever have.
Thank you for everything Lola, thank you for the great, selfless love.... a love I will cherish and hold on to forever! Mahal na mahal kita!

Self-sacrificing/giving, gentle, and loving. Those were my grandma's most admirable traits. She would rather have very little or none, if it meant something to somebody else. She always thought of herself last. She never raised her voice, never complained and never spoke ill of others. Instead, she spoke so kindly, so tender, and with so much understanding.
She repeatedly expressed how much she loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; how much every single one of them made her happy; and how wonderful it all had been.
Pangako ko lola, tutuparin ko lahat ng habilin mo. Salamat sa pamana mong kabaitan, salamat sa pagmamahal, at salamat sa pang-unawa.

Lola Ebang, for all those few but treasured moments I and the Manzano family had shared with you, we truly thank you. We may have not been there to care and support you at the time you need us the most but we're confident and at ease knowing that our family and relatives there took care of you unconditionally. We love you so much Lola Ebang. I know that you're happily up there together with Lolo Piling. You will be truly missed by the whole family. May your soul rest in peace together with our Lord God Almighty.
Love and Prayers,

Lola, I love you. I didn't get to say goodbye but even if I did, now that I think about it, I'm not sure that I would have because you'll always be with me in my heart, thoughts and prayers. For every good deed, every smile and every love that I'm able to show will have your subtle influence. That's how I will honor you, remember you and how I will cherish the memories that you have blessed me with.

Dear lola,
I really don't know how to deal and cope with how I am feeling right now. The grief of losing you, the agony of not being there to care for you when you need it most, the frustration and guilt for failing to give back as much love and care you have given me and to compound it all, the despair to see and hug you one last time.
I just take comfort in the thought that you are now resting in peace with our Creator and the memory of our last conversation, few days before you joined our Lord, when you told me that you love me very much and I told you as well that I love you so. Lola, those words will forever be in my memory and will reverberate in my heart for as long as I live.
I have lots of memories of you when you were still here in the Philippines, especially when I was a young boy. One of the most vivid is when I was in Grade 1, when I quarrelled with a classmate and as a result the teacher punished us by letting us sit in front of the whole class wearing a sash each which indicate hari ng madadaldal and the other reyna ng madadaldal. During those times, you and mama fetches me after class, but I was not worried that mama would get mad when she sees me in front of the class wearing the sash as I am sure that you were there to tolerate my mischief and your presence per se is enough to prevent mama from scolding me. I was more worried of the embarrassment of wearing reyna ng madadaldal instead of hari ng madadaldal. Truly enough, I was not scolded. I remember you saying "ganyan talaga, bata yan e" with a smile.
Indeed Lola, you are God's gift to all of us. You are endowed with a liberal overdose of kindness and love within and an exuberant beauty and devastating charm externally.
You will forever be in our hearts and mind and will never be forgotten.
I love you LOLA.I miss you. Rest in peace.
