My mother , Bertha Long, was sister to Aunt Edna. My mother had a son the same age as Aunt Edna. So she got spankings along with my brother. Aunt Enda was a wonderful lady. I would have loved to have spent more time with her. I moved to SC in 20 14 so no longer able to make the trip. I will miss her and prayed for her all the time. Thank you Lord they are united again in Heaven.

My brother, Donald Smith and Edna, many years ago, were married in the living room of my sister, Delores & Jim Matthew, on Nebraska Ave. in Caruthers, CA. My sister Delores and Edna had mutual birthdays, May 20th. They were married by Bro. Elbert Garretson, Minister of the Church of Christ , who lived nextdoor. A day of celebration! Later they moved to Fresno to begin their home. We were able to visit often as I was living in Fresno as well, and they helped me move to my apartment a couple of times. When their children were born, one of our favorite events every year was gathering at my sister's home for the big Egg hunt, along with Grandma and Grandpa! I was married later and lived in Menlo Park, CA with our four boys, a three hour drive, to faithfully attend that EGG HUNT. We have so many memories of our lives together with family. Our Love and Prayers to all the family and due to health issues, and a death in my husband's family; we were unable to be there for the service...............Thank you and God Bless! I also remember that kitchen table that we all grew up around. First listening to the moms talk then us girls being the moms and sharing our stories. We had lots of fun being there. Will miss you.

I loved Aunt Edna's laugh and her hospitality. I remember playing in the backyard when I was little and when my boys were little they played in that same backyard. She also had a table where three sisters could gather to talk and laugh. Lovely memories.
