Frank Richard Telles
January 13, 1928 – December 19, 2020
Frank Richard Telles, age 92, of Fresno, California passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Frank was born January 13, 1928 in Las Deltas, California.
“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” -unknown-
I was given the gift of life and now I must give it back, this is hard. But I was a very lucky man. I lead a lucky existence and for this I am grateful. On January 13th, 1928 my parents, Jess and Anna Telles along with my siblings celebrated my birth and I was introduced to all as, Frank Richard Telles from Las Deltas, California. I was the baby of 4 so yes, I was spoiled. I grew up on our family ranch and learned to love the land and farming.
I proudly served my country in the United States Army. While stationed at Fort Ord in Monterey California, I met, wooed and married Mona Jo Buie. We made our home in Dos Palos eventually moving to the metropolis of Firebaugh California. Together we had three children, Sharon, Melissa and Richard.
Looking back, I can say life is in chapters. My life would have been best depicted in a novel titled, Family, Faith and Land. Family gave me my base, my strength. Faith gave me my compass and the land let me grow cotton, melons, strawberries and lettuce. Through these endeavors I met many interesting people and forged lasting friendships that carried me through my life.
In later life I was blessed with 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. These little people blessed me with so much joy. I have never been a man of many words, so my story here needs to wrap up.
I have had a wonderful life and thank you to all who made it so.
Please join my family at St. Anthony of Padua, on May 6th at 10:00 a.m.
A special thank you to 2 angels. My granddaughter Laykin Wegis. And to Sam Reeves, more than just a friend. A man that has so much on his plate of life and always found the time for me.

As his oldest child and daughter I truly had the fantasy father. Strong in leadership, taking us to church every Sunday, raising me to respect others. This has been so hard he was just a constant in my life for so long. I was so very lucky. Rest in peace.
As always, Sharon

Dick Telles was one of the finest men I've ever met, he was a true friend and I will truly miss him. I never met anyone that had a bad word to say about Mr. Telles! He was extremely generous and a very kind human being.
He was an absolute giant in the world of agriculture and was yet incredibly humble. When we would travel and meet people in business settings Dick never spoke about himself his accomplishments or the size of his operations.
He was a Mentor a Business partner and dear friend. God rest Dick Telles`s soul!

I will always remember our time out in Firebaugh Ca at the ranch, and all the magic and fun there was to have. The times we would travel as a family.
I cherish my many visits over the years in Los Banos, Bakersfield and Fresno.
I will miss our chats, dinners and all our time hanging out in the garden at the Nazareth House.
He was and still is my best friend, I will keep my memories and photos close. Love you
