OMG!!!  This is Kathy Ramirez,  Gary's cousin.  I can't believe no one told my sister and me of Gary's passing .... a year ago!  Gary was a much loved member of our family,  and he and my dad (his Uncle Bud) were especially close.  We only found this information while searching for other information.   We loved Gary so much  and will miss him lots.  His sense of humor was always a strong point with family.  Although it's been a year now ... recently for Kristi and myself... our live and prayers ate with his family,  especially Sarah. Mr Ennis was the best!! He was my IPS teacher in 1980, but was way more than just a teacher. He always greeted me with a ,”Hey Haynes!” and it always made me feel special.  He worked for my dad when he was 17 at my dad’s gas station. That gave me the in!  His teaching style was so good and he helped even the science ignorant like me to succeed. 
May all of his family know that he will never be forgotten and I pray God’s continued peace over all of you🙏🏻.

Gary was very kind and encouraging to me when I began teaching math at Clovis High School.  He truly cared about his students as whole individuals and went above and beyond to guide them in their lives.  Gary and his buddy, Dan Eberly, always brought a great sense of humor and wit to our faculty meetings and department meetings that made them much more entertaining!  It was a blessing to be Gary's colleague for several years in the math department at Clovis High before he retired; he made a positive impact on me and so many other teachers and students at Clovis High.

Uncle Bob and I will always remember the day that you were born.  After your birth, your Dad,  dropped by our house on West Fountain Way.  He was so happy and excited,  You were and are the best thing that has happened to him.  Throughout your journey in life, let this knowledge guide you.

I was very sad to hear of Gary’s passing. My daughter and I were neighbors of Gary in the apartment complex on Sharon St in the 80’s. I remember him working so very hard as a teacher and also on weekends in construction. But as busy as he was, he was a great neighbor and friend. Praying peace and comfort for Sarah and family. This breaks my heart!  Mr. Ennis was one of the best, if not the best teacher I had!  (Clovis High Class of 1992)  So many memories with him over the years.  I was a TA in his class and my boyfriend was in the same class.  He'd have James go change the oil in his car over in auto shop and he'd let me go with him to "make sure he was doing it right."  Then years went by but I always ran into him at Savemart, always!  I'd say hello and we'd chat.  He totally remembered me.  Once I had my son Tj with me, who looks just like his Dad, who was the boyfriend who changed his oil lol!  He'd always ask Tj how his Dad was doing and to make sure to tell him that he said hello.  Tj would call his Dad as we were pulling out if the shopping center to tell him.  I'd give Mr. Ennis a hard time as we wrote out his checks to pay for his groceries.  He was just an amazing person who I know impacted thousands of lives!!!

I taught with Gary at Clovis High for 5 years. We had an outstanding staff in many subjects, but there was no teacher I admired more than Gary. He held an open lab every Wed night from 6-9, during which time the students could come in and get extra help for the classes he taught. During the 8 years he taught AP Physics, every student who took the AP exam passed the test. That is an amazing accomplishment, and will never be broken in a subject as difficult as Physics. Through his example, Gary showed his students the secret to success is hard work. I've never seen a more dedicated instructor. Gary would give you the coat off his back, and I know of many occasions where he did just that. He added a great deal to the community, and asked for nothing in return except your friendship. The world is a sadder place with his passing, but I consider myself fortunate for having known him. I hope you are doing well at this time Sarah, and know that you were your Dad's love of his life. 2000 characters isn't remotely enough to describe the impact Gary had on my life. He was a teacher, a mentor, my boss, and my friend. He was the best example of perseverance, and work ethic I have ever seen. He had a way of explaining anything in a way that was easy to understand, and was infinitely more impressed by effort, than he was with achievement. I will never forget the stories and lessons that were only taught in his kitchen, or in front of a blazing hot fire he'd have going in his stove....in March. It's because of him that I know why you don't try to teach a pig to sing, why it was a bad idea to be too close to Willy McCovey in the clubhouse, how little pizza you actually need in order to feed 5 people, how long you can survive on a loaf of bread and a head of lettuce, what great people his enemies were, and that he " can't say enough good things about them." I will forever miss his sharp wit, and dramatic exhales. I will forever miss my friend.

My childhood is filled with so many wonderful memories of Gary!! If I wasn't at my home I was most definitely with Sarah and Gary!! I was always Sarah's plus one and I loved it!! Gar was always a trooper allowing me to tag along! We really would drive him crazy but I know he loved it!! Some of my favorite memories are after he would wax the hardwood floors and we'd wait for him to go to bed and we'd put on his tall socks and run and slide around on the floor. He'd wake up so mad, but I know he got a kick out of it! When we'd let Sarah's bird cloud out in the middle of the night and me and Sarah could never catch him (he would bite) Gar would always have to come in with welding gloves at midnight to catch the bird. He'd have a few swear words for us and then back to bed He'd go. He still always let me stay the night though! Gar blow drying his hair, I'll never forget that! Him vacuuming,  perfect lines always. I did like to mess them up every once in awhile!! His Frig full of Pepsi,  every kids dream!! Baseball games!! I could go on for days!! Im thankful I had him in my life! For always having a loving and fun person  that cared for me as much as I cared for him!! He will be greatly missed!! I Love you Gar!!

I don’t remember the pups name but Gary sure loved him. He used to tell stories of him riding on the gas tank of the Harley.

Uncle Gary will always be remembered by the Speechly family. Your love of the NY Yankees and Corvettes always come to mind when I think about you. Every time I drive through Cambria on the central coast I think of Uncle Gary. Even though we didn’t see you Uncle Gary and Sarah you’re are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have known Gary since 1976.  He was one of the hardest working men I have known.  He was a good man.  He was always willing to help me out.  He helped me to get my son his first car.  He even gave my son a job when he was little.  Our prayers are with the family.
