Born in Fresno, he graduated from Fres- no High School in 1937 and from Stanford University in 1942. After attending Officers Candidate School, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. After the war, he farmed in Madera raising grapes until he retired in 2005. He was active in SunMaid Raisin Growers and served on the board and was Chairman of the Board for a number of years.
His wife Trudy; and his son Gary, preceded him in death.
He is survived by Shirley Myers, his companion; and his son Stephen and his family.
