OBITUARY
Geraldine Patricia Gillespie
December 16, 1945 – March 14, 2021
It is with profound sadness that the family of Geraldine P. Gillespie announce her sudden and unexpected passing on March 14, 2021. Geraldine died at home at the age of 75 years, 2 months, and 26 days. Visitation will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 L Street, Fresno, California. A private graveside burial will follow. Pallbearers will be Danny Jones, Jeff Jones, Donald Applegate III, Michael Jones, Richard Wilson and Justin Wilson. Geraldine Patricia Gallyer was born in Sanger, California on December 16, 1945 to Esaias James and Luella Mae (Gomes) Gallyer. Geraldine was the mother of 8 children; Danny Eugene Jones, Charlotte Marie Jones, Sherry Jean Jones (Fitzgerald), Cindy Diane Jones (Wilson), James Louis Jones, William Esaias Elias Jones, Jeffrey Laine Jones and Donald Eugene Applegate, III. Geraldine had 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. On July 5, 2008, Geraldine married Thomas Edwin Gillespie, who she would eternally describe as the “love of her life”. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2016. Geraldine loved Gone With The Wind, Elvis Presley, and anything chocolate. She spent her free time crocheting blankets for the people that she loved and would go out of her way to make sure her loved ones were comfortable. Geraldine was very well traveled and loved to share stories of her trips to Kenya, Egypt, Rome, Ireland, Spain, Thailand, Germany, Canada, Mexico, London, and Scotland. She was a frequent traveler to Disneyland and Hawaii, two of her favorite places in the world. Once you met Geraldine, it was hard to forget her. She was a woman of strength and independence. She was beautiful, feisty, and outspoken. She loved time spent with family and friends, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Her family will miss her every day for the rest of their lives. Geraldine is survived by her children and their spouses: Danny (Margie) Jones, Sherry Fitzgerald, Cindy Wilson, Jim (Jackie) Jones, Bill Jones, Jeff (Joanie) Jones and Donald (Emme) Applegate, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Geraldine is also survived by her sisters: Charlotte Gallyer and Victoria Gallyer and her brother, Joey Gallyer. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, and treasured friends also survive. Along with her husband, Tom, Geraldine was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Charlotte Jones, and her parents. Memorial contributions may be made in Geraldine’s memory to your charity of choice.

We met while our boys Donnie and Brandon were in kindergarten at Bullard Talent 89-90. We instantly hit it off. PTA, Harvest Carnivals, Wagon Trains trips and "Vinettes". She was always referred as the other wife lol until she passed. Always knew where Ray was if anyone was looking for him. We loved Gerrie with all our hearts and she will be missed dearly. She would call or text and say a taco sure sounds good and Ray would stop and go get her a couple tacos. It's just what you do.
Ray and Gerrie became baking buddies until she became to I'll and Cindy moved with her. Friends are those who you choose to be family. Love you our dear friend. May you rest in the arms of your beloved.
