Gilbert Orante, a devoted and hard-working individual, with embraced hands, peacefully passed away to the Kingdom of God on December 26, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born on March 3, 1955. Gilbert led a life filled with dedication, love for his family, and passions, and love for Jesus as his personal savior.
He enjoyed a fulfilling 35-year career as a superintendent for Fresno Memorial Gardens which he rebuilt into an extremely family oriented environment with the office managers and grounds keepers. He was a devoted family man, spending cherished moments with his mother Alice Orante, and taking great joy in watching his grandchildren play sports.
Gilbert also had a love of car shows, fishing and camping. He was an avid fan of WWE Wrestling and the New Orleans Saints. Known for his punctuality, Gilbert enjoyed drinking his coffee every morning.
Gilbert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 50 years, Elva Orante, his son, Robert Orante and his wife Liz Orante; his daughter, Leticia Soto and her husband, Andre Soto.
He is also survived by his sister, Mary Nieto and her husband Ralph Nieto; his brother, Archie Orante Jr. and his long-time companion Laura; and sister Diane Araujo, and her husband, Tom Araujo.
Gilbert leaves behind his beloved grandchildren , Adrianna and her husband, Angel, Xavier, Mialyla and Saven, as well as his great-grandchildren, Alexander, Ariella and Ariel.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Especially, his personal nurse, Valerie Villamizar, the future wife of grandson Xavier Orante.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Helen's Catholic Church; additional information to follow.
