

A gathering was never quiet with her there. She had a personality, heart and smile that lit up every room she walked into, filling it with her fun loving spirit and contagious laughter. When she asked how you were doing it was never just words, she truly and genuinely cared about the well being of others.
After a decade of working at the Fresno State Bookstore, she loved spending time visiting with and/or talking to family and loved ones near and far. She filled her days with casino trips, baking, sewing, antiquing, especially for her treasured carnival glass and lamps, as well as the daily Crossword Puzzle in the paper, word games and casino slot machine games on her phone.
Heaven has gained a beautiful angel who was always full of so much life. She was the heartbeat of her family, bringing great joy to everyone who knew and loved her. She will be missed immeasurably and has left many treasured memories behind.
Gloria is survived by her devoted husband John of nearly 68 years, their son Chris and daughter-in-law Tamara (Tammy), grandson Justin and his wife Brandi, grandson Brad, great grandsons Constantine and Christian, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Elmer and Ann Penner, brothers Ron and Dennis Penner, grandparents and many other loved ones.
There will be a graveside service at Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno on Thursday, August 20th at 10:30AM as well as as a Celebration of Life at New Hope Community Church, 4620 E. Nees Avenue (just East of Clovis Avenue on Nees) on Saturday, August 22nd at 11AM.
