

Harold Whitted was born in Mulvane, KS on February 4, 1921 to parents Wiley F. Whitted and Mae Sharp. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Veterinary Medicine (Class of 1955). He worked as a California State District Veterinarian for 25 years. He met and married Wilhelmina Hrna "Willie" in San Diego, CA on January 2, 1945. They lived here in Fresno for thirty eight years.
Harold joined the United States Navy in 1942 and served until 1949. As a young Ensign, he completed naval operational training and was assigned to the Commander Fleet Air West Coast in San Diego, CA. He served as a co-pilot/navigator in a Navy patrol bomber (Squadron 21). Harold achieved Lieutenant Grade level, and he also received the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroism and extraordinary achievement in aerial flight.
He is survived by son, Robert Whitted and his wife Peggy, daughters, Cecelia Pesa and her husband Boris, and Cynthia Dolan; grandchildren, Beau and Brianna Pesa, Andrew Dolan, Travis Whitted and his wife Tina, and Rachelle Bowman; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Taryn, and Tristan Whitted.
A Graveside Service with military honors will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10: 00 a.m.
