August 17, 1919 July 24, 2013 Helen J. Cardenas passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. She graduated from Heald 4 C's College and went on to be a Secretary for the Federal Government. Helen and her husband Bernard owned and operated Bernard's Cleaners and Tailors for 34 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard and her son, Timothy. Helen is survived by her son, Kenny; her daughter, Nissi; her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
