OBITUARY

Helena Gertrude Hansen

September 30, 1926April 13, 2021

Helena Gertrude Hansen passed away in the morning of April 13th in her home. Helena was born September 30, 1926 in Chicago to Max and Helen Sihler.

Helena attended Cook Elementary school, and Calumet High School. She graduated from the Nurses Training program at Englewood Hospital, class of 1949.

Helena married Everett T. Hansen (Ted) on June 22, 1951. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage, travelled extensively and loved each other very much.

Helena was a voracious reader, and the family often remarked that she read books faster than writers could crank them out.

Helena is survived by sons Richard and Michael, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, to whom she was devoted. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where she and Ted felt so very much at home.

A wake for Helena will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:00 am at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel.

✝️🌸Oh so many memories fill our lifetime with “Mom”. The times together are treasured. Always thoughtful was she, such a beautiful heart. Smiling and caring about us everyday. Laughing and reminiscing is what I enjoyed the most, we were miles apart for part of my life , but our wonderful relationship stood strong for all these years. We pray for your beautiful soul, we send our deepest sympathy to Richard and Mike, two of the finest sons I know.
May you know peace and comfort in the coming days. Know we are close in your heart, and you in ours......
