Mrs Ho Shee Wong

No one embraced life more than she did; she always had a smile on her face. Our mother inspired us to be better people by leading us through example of the life she lived. She was the pillar of strength and support of our entire family. It is because of her that we, our children and our grandchildren are as close as we are today. Mom touched many lives, including her friends, as well as her family with her kindness, generosity, and sweet, yet sometimes stubborn temperament. Although Mom is no longer here, she will continue to influence our lives and will be in our hearts always.

Ho Shee Wong was born in Canton, China on June 15, 1907. She married Wing Wan Wong. Mom came to Fresno, California in 1930. Irene had two sons and six daughters. She was a housewife and helped and worked with Dad in the family restaurant, The Far East Cafe. She was a member of Jan Ying Association.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Tsing Kwok, the staff at St. Agnes Day Care Center, and the caregivers of Gentle Hearts Home in Clovis-Toby, Tina, Virgie, and Katherine for the wonderful and loving care that they provided to Mom.

Our mother is preceded in death by her husband; her granddaughter, Kim Marie Wong; daughter-in-law, Connie Annett Wong; and granddaughter-in-law, Emily Tsao Wong.

Irene is survived by her children and their spouses, sons David and Alice of Foster City, Ca., and Harold of Tulare, Ca; daughters, Wanda and Wyman Wong, Amy and Stanford Lee and Jeanne and Allen Mau of Fresno, Ca, Gwen and John Lew of Sunnyvale, Ca, Terri and Leland Lum of Concord, Ca, and Emily and Richard Mah of Bellevue, Wa; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grand-children; and one great-great-grandaughter.

Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Friday, May 27, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.

Remembrances may be made to First Chinese Baptist Church, 6080 N. Angus, Fresno, Ca. 93710; or to St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 1127 Tulare St., Fresno, Ca. 93706.
