Jack (Akob) Krkour-Krikorian, age 72, was called back to God on the evening of November 19, 2023 in Fresno, California. Despite medical issues in recent years, Jack always showed his courage and strength, facing these life challenges with a smile.
Jack was born in Syria on August 7, 1951. He was the youngest child of Mardyros and Sara Krkour. After graduating from High School, Jack went on to obtain a civil engineering degree and had a very successful career in this field.
Jack later immigrated to the United States and settled in Fresno where he became a US citizen. In 1984, soon after arriving in the US, Jack eagerly welcomed his only child, Marty. Being a father to Marty was always Jack’s most proud and important role. In September of 2022 he welcomed his newest pride and joy, his precious grandson Jack.
All who knew Jack quickly became very aware that it was the simplest pleasures in life, especially quality time with his friends and loved ones that brought him the most joy. Jack was continually grateful for the little things in life. Jack’s honest, humble, and incredibly kind nature was felt by all and noticed by many. He will forever be remembered with the most warmth, love, and respect by his family and dear friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his mother and father Mardyros and Sara Krkour, his brother Krikor and sisters Loosin and Mary.
Jack is survived by his son Marty Krikorian (Caitie) and grandson Jack, brothers-in-law Jack Vartanian and Kirk Vartanian (Amanda) and his nieces and nephew.
Visitation for Jack will be held Monday, December 4, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 2226 Ventura Ave, Fresno, CA 93721.
Committal services following funeral service will be at Masis Ararat Cemetery, 250 N Hughes Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
Lunch reception to follow at Yerevan Restaurant, 7747 N. First Street, Fresno, CA 92720.
