

Jim grew up in Tranquillity where he graduated high school, then attended West Hills College before hiring on with Allied Equipment Co. where he worked in several capacities. He was later employed by Fresno Equipment Company as their San Joaquin-Tranquillity area sales representative, and was eventually promoted to manager of their Five Points Branch, where he worked for many years until retirement. Jim had a thorough knowledge of Farm Equipment, and was highly regarded by the owners, employees, and customers of the Company.
He was known for his integrity, good humor, his always spotlessly clean autos, and for his award winning restorations of Classic Cars and Cushman Motor Scooters. He had a vast knowledge Chevrolet high performance engines and had many friends with whom he shared these interests.
Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marlene; his son Randy Dufur; an aunt Amy Juanche; his cousins: Margie Bigue, Suzanne Sapp, and David Tikkanen; his sister-in-law Karen Torrano; and a niece Tammy Torrano Kerby.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
Jim was in dialysis for nearly five years before receiving his kidney transplant in December of 2002.
