Jim Heintz was born in Los Angeles to Andrew Joseph Heintz and Irene Elizabeth Heintz. He entered the US Air Force after graduating from Hollywood High School and was stationed in Greenland and Wichita Kansas. This is where he met the love of his life, Jo Ann Price. Jim and Jo Ann were married in Ponca City, OK and remained loyal, best friends for all 57 years of their marriage. Jim was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1962 and began work with Southern California Edison for the next 35 years. Jim enjoyed spending time with his children as coach, on and off the sidelines. He was an avid gardener and any afternoon you could find him sitting poolside with a cold beer. Everyone who met Jim was touched by his kindness, gentle nature and warmth. Jim is survived by brother Andrew Joseph Heintz, wife Jo Ann Heintz, children James Jr, Jenee’ Collin, Juliane Montgomery, son in-laws David Collin, Jason Montgomery and seven grandchildren: Evan, Kelsey, Megan, Jason Jr., Caroline, Danny, and Sadie. The family would like to thank the staff at Fresno Post-Acute for their care of Jim, as well as Aseracare Hospice for their assistance in providing comfort and support during his final moments. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities at 149 N. Fulton St., Fresno CA 93701
or Aseracare Hospice at 650 W Alluvial Ave, Fresno, CA 93711. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Fresno with Jim’s wife, children and grandchildren.
