Jean, born on October 4th, 1929, in Texas, embarked on a remarkable journey through life. She later moved to California, where she met her husband of 68 years, Earl Kerry Wong. They were married in Berkeley, CA on July 23rd, 1951, and their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership.
A trailblazer of her time, Jean broke barriers as one of the few female pharmacists in the 1950s. Both she and Earl attended the Idaho State College School of Pharmacy. After school they relocated to Dos Palos, CA, where they owned and operated Dos Palos Rexall Drug. They had four children and Dos Palos became their cherished home for over four decades.
Jean was preceded in death by her son, Bryant Kerry Wong and her husband, Earl Kerry Wong. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Wong Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Tom Hanson; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Wong Neves and Paul Neves; her grandchildren Amber Jean Hammer, Emily Kerry Williams, Christopher Hanson, and Matthew Hanson; and her great-granddaughter, Quinn Hammer.
Jean was a person of strong faith. She enjoyed skiing and a glass of wine by the fireplace. She will be remembered for her love of old movies, music by John Denver and Neil Diamond, and anything decorated in white. Her warm and gentle spirit touched the hearts of many, leaving an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A private family service and interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Fresno, California. As we bid farewell to Jean, we remember not only the depth of our loss but also the richness of a life well-lived and the enduring love that will forever connect us to her memory.
