Jeanette "Jean" F. Dutton was born in Watsonville, Ca on January 2, 1926. Her family returned to Fresno when she was at the age of 2 where she was raised and considered herself a 3rd generation Fresno native. She passed away January 21, 2021 in Sanger, CA shortly after celebrating her 95th birthday. The youngest twin and the 4" daughter born to Darrel F. and Irma A. Dutton. Jean graduated from Fresno High School in the mid 40's and in her wedding engagement notice dated September 21, 1945 she vowed to return to Fresno State College to complete her art work. After raising 5 children she did just that and resumed her art classes at Fresno City College in the 70's and 80's. Jean was proud of her heritage and also proud of the fact that her grandfather, Andrew Brown, helped build this valley in which we live. One structure which shall be an everlasting memorial to her grandfather, the beautiful water tower on Fresno Street which he helped to build. This structure is now a permanent historical landmark for the City of Fresno. But even more lasting shall be the love and admiration Jean had for each member of her family. And, as every mother will understand, her greatest love of all was for her children, Janey Goss, John Goss, Scott Goss, Dwight Goss and Nancy Goss. Her love for each was unlimited.
Jean was preceded in death by her sisters, Delores (Dolly) Hollister, Alma Radka and Geraldine (Jerry) Raley (her twin) and her niece Sally Raley.
She is survived by her children, Janey Goss, John Goss and his wife Carolyn, Scott Goss and his wife Debbie, Dwight Goss and his wife Denise and Nancy Goss. Her grandchildren, Johnny Goss and his wife Melissa, Jana Greenburg and her husband Kevin, Thomas Faretta Jr. and his wife Jeana and Danielle Saviez and her husband Mark, Scott Goss and his wife Yvette, Thomas Goss, Sophia Goss, Larissa Goss, Shun Goss, David Goss and his wife Anna, Hannah Matranga and India Eichelbaugh. Her great grandchildren, Stellan Goss, Gabriella Goss, Michael Goss, Allyx Faretta, Reagan Faretta, Madison Goss, Makenna Goss, Kaili Goss, Cedar Goss, Cara Goss and nephews, Jerry Raley and his wife Terry and Gordon B. Hollister, Jr., and his wife Peggy.
We will forever miss Jean's youthful spirit and her everlasting smile and laughter but will hold the many memories deep in our hearts for the rest our lives. Jean was the story behind some of our best stories.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Elim Place in Sanger, CA and Optimal/Bristol Hospice for their exceptional care and patience for making a loving and caring environment for Jean.
