Jeanette Green, age 91, was born on August 25, 1930, and passed away on October 2, 2021. She was born in Hanford California to Anthony and Ardath Caeton. She had four brothers. After starting elementary school, she was moved up a grade and graduated from Hanford High School with her older brother, Lionel. She then left for Nursing School at St. Mary’s College of Nursing in San Francisco, where she achieved her RN Degree. She became a nurse at Saint Agnes Hospital in Fresno, starting at the old Saint Agnes and then moving to its new location in north Fresno in the early 1970’s. She also served as an officer in the Army Reserves. She continued her nursing career for 46 years with Saint Agnes and ended her years there as the house supervisor.

Jeanette met and married her husband, Farrell, and had six children. She supported his love of the outdoors and even learned to enjoy taking many family trips with all five children in a camper. The campers kept growing bigger as the family grew in size. One of her passions was working in the garden and yard. Much of her time was spent planting things and maintaining their home’s large yard. She continued this passion as she would stop during her walks while living at Fairwinds, and pick all the dead flowers and leave them in piles for the gardeners to pick up. Another great passion of hers was reading. Jeanette was a server all her life. While giving as a nurse for most of her life, she was also involved in serving in so many other areas. For 14 years, she was a volunteer RN at the Holy Cross Clinic at the Poverello House. She also was a volunteer in a Kindergarten classroom at Eaton Elementary near her home. She loved returning home with funny stories about all the children telling her how old she looked. At Saint Paul’s Newman Center, where she and Farrell were longtime parishioners, she was a member of the gardening committee. She extended her passion of reading by volunteering at the Leo Politi Library Book Sales. This allowed her to exchange her books for more books to read. Her husband, Farrell, her oldest son Thomas, her newborn daughter Tricia, and her older brother, Lionel, preceded her in death.

She is survived by son, Timothy and wife Brenda, Teresa Hutchinson and husband Craig, Tracy Green and husband Kip, and Tamara Kirk and husband Mike. Surviving grandsons are Joseph and Samuel Hutchinson and Dylan and Alex Green. Three younger brothers Dennis, Thomas, and John Caeton also survive her.

Marecca. You supported me all thru my schooling. Even writing my valedictorian speech for me.I really looked forward to you coming home from college to visit. Your graduation is still one of the highlights of my life. My favorite sister, you will always be in my heart.

My sister. She was with me soon after I was born, caring for me, changing poopy diapers, and - I'm told - getting a chuckle when I farted on her lap. I have always been grateful for the way I was included in so many of her family's outings while growing up. I have appreciated how she and I shared careers in the medical field; it was always nice to have that in common. I think she may have even pulled a string or two to help me get my first job working in the ER at the old St. Agnes. I have considered her the RBG equivalent in nursing. Thank you, sister, for crossing the country to be at my medical school graduation. That was an honor. You are loved and missed. I look forward to sitting down with you again one day - maybe we can discuss some interesting medical cases.
