Jesse Chacon, a devoted family man and longtime resident of Fresno, CA, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born on July 10, 1939, in Fresno, California, Jesse was the beloved son of Geraldine and Seferino Hernandez. He grew up in Reedley, CA, and from a young age, showed his dedication to family by leaving school early to help support his loved ones.
Jesse built a long and steady career as a truck driver with American Transfer, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. Known for his hard work and quiet strength, Jesse was deeply grounded in his faith and cherished the simple joys of life, especially time spent with his family.
In retirement, he found great happiness alongside his beloved wife, Mary Jane, and their many grandchildren. He will be remembered for his warm heart, deep faith, and unwavering love for his children and grandchildren.
Jesse is survived by his children: Katherine Chacon; Jesse Chacon and his wife Cindy; Bryan Chacon and his wife Lilly; Thomas Chacon; and Christina Gandolfo and her husband Eric. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Kristen, Ryan, Rebecca, Kristiina, Ryan, Jessica, Brittney, and Gianni.
He was preceded in death by his parents Geraldine and Seferino Hernandez, his brother Poncho, sister Yolanda, and his loving wife Mary Jane.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.
Funeral services will follow on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
A committal service will take place immediately after at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S. Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
