The family moved to Fresno CA in 1965. Jessie attended Orange Center Elementary and graduated from Washington Union High School. She attended Fresno City College. Jessie was employed with the US Government Agency in the Central Valley for 40 years. She served in different capacities, and received numerous awards in recognition of loyal and devoted services.
Jessie was a beautiful, loving and caring person. She had a rare gift for finding happiness in the simplest things and sharing that joy with others. She had a heart of gold that knew no bounds, always extending love and kindness to everyone around her. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. Jessie loved spending time with her family and friends. Even though Jessie never married or had children of her own, her nieces and nephews were like her children, and they were her pride and joy. Jessie also had a deep bond with her beloved dog, Sammy, who was always by her side. Sammy brought Jessie immense comfort, and their companionship was a source of great joy in her life. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. One of my very special memories is the Lopez family coming together to make homemade tamales. And it was all thanks to Jessie, who always took the lead in this family tradition. Every Christmas Eve she would gather everyone to make dozens of tamales to share with friends, neighbors and loved ones.
Jessie was very strong and courageous, she was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, but she never let it slow her down. She continued to work, even when she was undergoing chemotherapy and treatments, and always kept a positive attitude. God gave Jessie courage and grace to fight her illness without complaint.
While our hearts mourn the loss of Jessie, we know she’s is no longer suffering. We take comfort in knowing that she is resting in peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father, and in the memories she leaves behind and the love she shared with us all. Jessie was truly an amazing and beautiful person and loved by all she met. As we say farewell lets honor her legacy by finding joy in our everyday lives and spreading love as she did.
In closing, we find comfort in knowing that Jessie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 28th. She was called to go home by her Heavenly Father on Monday, July 29th at 2:15 am and now is resting peacefully in His arms. The word of God says that one day we will see our loved ones gone before us, and so based on that promise we know without a shadow of a doubt, we will see Jessie again! Until that day we will hold treasured memories of Jessie in our hearts. We love you Jessie!
