John W. Albright of Fresno, California passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the age of 96. He was born on January 20, 1927 in Reading, PA where he grew up. John served in the Navy as a pharmacist’s mate during World War 2 and traveled on trains, eventually landing in Oakland, CA, where he met Viola Spang. They were married in 1946 in Reno, Nevada. They moved to Fresno and lived in the same house on Saginaw Way. As young parents they were very active in the Boy Scouts, camping and hosting scout meetings. Unfortunately, Viola passed away in 2000 from Alzheimer’s Disease.
John was an electrician his whole career, opening Albright Electric in 1966 until it was sold. Even after the sale he worked occasionally in other shops. He was a reserve police officer and enjoyed chasing the “bad guys”. John really enjoyed working with his hands and did all the wiring in his own home, all the brickwork in the yard, putting up a swing in the front yard.
John met Rosealie Pellisier at church, and they married in 2008. Rosealie took wonderful care of John until her untimely death in 2021.
John was an active member of several Lutheran Churches over the years and remained faithful until his death.
John is survived by his son John, grandson Erik Cooper, daughter Janet, and granddaughter, Emma.
The family would like to thank Heritage Crossing for the care and compassion they showed John in his final days. The entire staff was always communicative and helpful both to John and his daughter.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Fresno Memorial Gardens (175 S. Cornelia Ave) on June 28th at 10AM.
