

John Allen Burnett, Phd. was born in Shattuck, Ok. John's family moved to California when he was a child. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge on June 6, 1963. After leaving the Marine's he attended Fresno State College, majoring in entomology continuing his studies at California State University Riverside where he completed his doctorate. He was employed at Tejon Ranch as their pest control manager and moved back to the San Joaquin Valley consulting farmers regarding pest control. Eventually John formed Valley Ag Consulting and continued assisting valley farmers with their pest control needs until he retired in 2005. John had many friends in the agricultural community and continued these friendships after retiring.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Rahma Kennington in 1999.
John will be missed by his family and many friends.
He leaves his sister, Hazel Kennington; niece, Teresa Rogers; great-nephew, Bryant Sims and Bryant's wife Nichole; great-niece, Mikahela Beamer; niece, Paula Konz and her husband Jeremy; and great-niece Haley; and great-nephews, Clay and Zack.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Friday, August 12, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lisle Calaveras Chapel on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations to donor's favorite charity.
