In Fresno, on February 24, 2014, the Reverend Monsignor John Daniel Moreton, ordained a priest on April 30, 1964 at Saint John's Cathedral and serving the people of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Parish as their Pastor, passed away peacefully at age 76 with family at his side.
The Moreton Family extends great appreciation to the many professionals of St. Agnes Medical Center for their kind care and assistance to Monsignor John.
He is reunited with his parents. James E. and Marcella Moreton of Los Angeles; his sister, Mary Robinson; and his brothers, Jim and Bill.
He is survived by sisters-in-law, Brigid and Kaye Moreton; many nieces and nephews; and his cousin, Sister Mary Romanus Smith, CSC.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fresno, with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church on Monday, March 3, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., followed by committal, service at St. Peter's Cemetery.
