

Raised and educated in Fresno, John served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy and served 36 months seeing action in Guadalcanal and the South Pacific.
After World War II ended, John joined the Fresno Fire Department and proudly served for 21 years attaining the rank of Deputy Fire Marshall.
John was employed as an arson/fire prevention expert for Kemper Insurance for 11 years and concluded his working career in real estate sales with Dover Realty,
Pilegard Realty and Briggs Realty.
John was a member of good standing in several fraternal organizations, B.P.O.E., Scottish Rite Temple and the American Legion.
John and his loving wife Fran were active members of the Edison Social Club. He was also especially grateful to be active in the New Hope Community Church of Clovis.
John is survived by his devoted wife, Fran, of 65 years; his brother, Charles of Santa Cruz; his son, Don and daughter in law Janey of Seattle; his son, Den of Chicago; his grandson, Jeremy, of Seattle; his grandson, Michael and Michael's wife, Suzy and two great grandchildren, Carter and Zoe of Charlotte; and extended family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Stephens and Bean Chapel, 202 N. Teil- man. Visitation on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Graveside Service at Belmont Memorial and lunch at New Hope Community Church at 4620 East Nees, Clovis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity or the New Hope Community Church.
