Joni Kay Yamamoto passed away on November 21, 2015 at the age of 55 after a long illness. She was born in Dinuba to Shigeto and Rosie Yamamoto. She graduated from Kingsburg High School, attended college, and was employed by the IRS for thirty years. Her hobbies included music, movies, and Star Trek.
She suffered a debilitating spine injury nearly three years ago and worked bravely to overcome her limitations in the hope that she could return to work.
Unfortunately, complications prevented her from reaching that goal. However, she succeeded in being able to return to her home, and live independently for over a year.
She is survived by two sisters, Teri Tanimoto (Dick), Karen Miller (Bruce), a niece (Tamryn), and a nephew (Brett).
Memorial Service will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 am.
