

Josephine K. Lango, age 90, former resident of Cupertino, CA passed away in Fresno on January 21, 2020. Josie was born on February 4, 1929 in Selma, Ca to Valentine and Maria (Montelongo) Lango. She was the eighth of 16 children. Josie excelled at swimming and tennis at Fowler High School and was an award winning tennis champion. After high school she moved north to the San Jose area where she worked a Lockheed Martin Corp. and met her best friend Terry Garcia who would join her for many adventures and travels through the years. She later worked at Hewlett Packard as a supervisor from which she took and early retirement to return to Fresno to care for her ailing mother. She was her chief caregiver for nine years, the last three of which followed a stroke which took her mother’s speech. Josie was fond of animals and alternately kept dogs, birds, fish, chicks and even rabbits. She kept up the Ranch the family homestead, for a long as she and brother Bob were able. The family continued to meet here for holidays and other family celebrations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Mathilda Lango, Lucy Rios, Beatrice Fernandez Agnes Liscano, Ramona Gutierrez, and Esther Lango; and brothers, Macario Lango, Joseph Lango, Robert Lango and Richard Lango.
Josie is survived by her sister, Mary Cavaldoro; and brothers, Luis Lango, Peter Lango, Tony Lango and Larry Lango; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Josephine’s family would especially like to thank those loving caregivers she had over the years, while at
home, as well as the nursing staff and CNA’s at Dycora Fresno – Hillcrest.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
