Josephine "Jo" Orlando Marinaro was born on February 10, 1927, in Fresno, CA. She passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015, at the age of 88. A lifelong Fresno resident, she graduated from Edison High School in 1945 and attended Fresno State College and worked in the family business, Orlando Peppers, and at Cover Girl and the IRS. Jo was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to spend hours working in her garden and cooking, especially Italian food. She enjoyed sharing her stories of life as a teenager during World War II with her family. She was preceded in death by Anthony Marinaro, her husband of 47 years; her parents, Peter and Catherine Orlando; brothers, John and Carl Orlando; and sisters, Geraldine Orlando, Rosalind Cefalia, Jean Cavanaugh and Prudence Savino. Jo is survived by her daughter, Lisa Backlund, and her husband, Dale; two granddaughters, Rachel and Stephanie; and many nieces and nephews. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Shrine of St. Therese Catholic Church on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
