Josephine T. Nickel
December 8, 1922 – July 12, 2020
Josephine Nickel, stepped into the arms of Jesus on July 12, 2020, after living 97 years here on earth!
Born December 8, 1922, in New Orleans, LA to Steve and Frances Attardo. Three of her sisters lived well into their nineties, and she has one sister that will be 103 in September.
She raised 2 of her 3 children as a single mom.
Mom was a reader, reading her Bible daily and she loved to read Bill O'Reilly's books like "Killing Kennedy" and "Killing Reagan," because she lived through both of those times in her life. She read these books in two days. Mom loved to do word search book puzzles and was sharp right to the end of her life!
She is survived by 3 children, Jackie Sargent and her husband Gene; Walter Golden of Fresno; and Scott Nickel of San Jose, CA; 3 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Everyone at the California Armenian Home loved Mom, and she loved staying there. This facility is Five Stars!
We want to thank the staff at the California Armenian Home who took care of our Mom. Especially, Janet Walker LVN, Esther LVN, Mary LVN, Rosa CNA, Irma CNA, Harman CNA, Claudia CNA, and those who had the second shift, night shift, and weekend duty. You all are Angels!
John 14:2-3 says, "In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you will be also."
Mom, your room is ready! We will miss you but we know we will see you again someday!
A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.

Hi Mom: You made it! All the way to Heaven! I can only imagine what it must be like and who you are visiting. Sitting around that long table, visiting family and friends, and the view must be unbelievable!
Thank you for raising us and giving us the right direction to go in. You always held your head high and you never gave up on wanting the best for us.
Please find Keith. Tell him I love him and someday we will all be together again!
I love you Mom!
