Juanita M. Leavitt

One of nine children of Lewis and Ellen Reese, Juanita is survived by her husband Robert H. Leavitt and her daughters, Laquitta Ostergaard, Roberta Fongemie, Rebecca Zaninovich and Barbara Leavitt. Juanita had five grandchildren, Jasen Fongemie, Paul and Scott Ostergaard, Andrew and Megan Zaninovich and three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas and Andy Fongemie.

People who knew Juanita loved her for her kindness and her sense of humor. She never let her dignity get in the way of her love of life, as her grandchildren well knew. Her interests ranged from quilting to snow skiing, from backpacking to gardening. She whitewater rafted the Kings twice in her sixties. At the age of 70, she went to Hawaii and tried parasailing and snorkeling.

A graveside service will take place at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 10:00 a. m.

Remembrances may be made to St. Agnes Hospice or Valley Caregivers Resource Center.
