Julia Porras
Julia Porras affectionally known as “Jay” passed away on October 30, 2022 soon after her 103rd birthday. Julia Porras was born on September 29, 1919 to Rafael E. Porras and Jesusita Maria Porras in Fresno California. Julia was the eldest child of 10 children. In 1948 at the age of 29, her mother passed away of cancer and she committed to care of her father and younger siblings. Aunt/Tia Jay lived the majority of her life on Dunn Street in Fresno and was a strong independent woman. In 2014 Auntie Jay moved to Hanford to live with her sister Margaret the remaining of her life. Jay left to meet her savior with Margaret and her niece Debra at her bedside. Jay never married however was the matriarch of a very large family of brothers, Sisters, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Julia made numerous friends over the 103 years of life and was a member of the Fresno Spanish Seventh Day Adventist church for over 75years.
Julia is proceeded in death by her Parents Raphael E Porras and Jesusita Maria Porras, Brother Phillip and his wife Lupe Porras, Brother Robert and wife Carmen Porras, Brother Ralph Porras, Alex Porras of Fresno and Brother Joe Porras of San Diego and Brother in Law’s Albert Molina of Fresno and Albert Juarez Jr of Hanford California and a number of nieces and nephews.
Julia is survived by Sisters Antonia Porras and Valentine Molina of Fresno, Margaret Juarez of Hanford and brother Elias Ernesto Porras of Fresno, Sister in law’s Margie Porras and Beverly Porras from Fresno and Juanita Porras of San Diego and numerous of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Julia will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, 202 North Teilman, Fresno, CA 93706.
