Kaoru Helen Inahara

Helen was born on August 30, 1928 in Stockton, California to Heizo and Kiyomo Nakano. The family later relocated from Amache Relocation Center, Granada, Colorado to Spokane, Washington where Helen graduated from Lewis & Clark H.S.

The family relocated to Sanger in 1947 and then to Fresno in 1952. Helen graduated from Federico Beauty College. Helen worked at Lily’s Beauty Salon and retired from IRS. Shig and Helen were married on March 1, 1953 and recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. They had two children Midori and Byron. Helen was active in the Fresno Fujinkai, Senior Club, Kumamoto Shinwa Kai, Fresno Betsuin, Fresno City Howakai and Fresno Buddhist Women’s Guild. Helen was very devoted to her family and spoiled her grandsons.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Heizo and Kiyomo Nakano, and sister Reiko Nakano.

Helen is survived by her husband Shig; daughter Midori Inahara; son Byron Inahara and his wife Amy, grandsons Brandon and Brayden; sisters Sumi Kajiya (Hiro), Loie Gardner; brothers Kazuo Tim Nakano (May), Fred Nakano; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00 am.
