Kay was a resident of Fresno, California throughout her life, where she was known for her independent, giving, and kind nature.
After graduating from Fresno High School, Kay dedicated many years to being a stay-at-home mom. She later worked for K-Mart before embarking on a long and fulfilling career as a clerical and tax agent for the Internal Revenue Service, where she served for 20 years.
Kay was married to her beloved husband, Burley Jackson, for 40 years until his passing in 1995. Together, they raised a large and loving family. Kay was known for baking cookies for her children after school, creating cherished memories for her family. She had a deep love for children and took great joy in doting on the family babies. Kay also enjoyed drawing and writing jokes, sharing her creativity and humor with those around her.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, John and Eunice Young, and her husband, Burley Jackson. She is survived by her brothers, Dexter Young and Melvin Young; her sons, Arthur Jackson and Keith Jackson; her daughter, Melody Coleman; as well as 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A small visitation for Kay will be held at Stephens and Bean Chapel, located at 202 North Teilman Avenue, Fresno, California, on June 12, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. The funeral service for Kay will follow the visitation at the same location starting at 10:00 am, and a committal service will immediately follow that, taking place at Fresno Memorial Gardens, located at 175 S Cornelia Avenue, Fresno, California.
Kay's life was a testament to love, family, and community, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
