Kenneth Takumi Hashimoto of Fowler suddenly passed away on November 19, 2024, at his residence at age 70. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Yukiye (Kaye) Hashimoto of Fowler, and his younger brother Donald. He was born and raised in Fowler, and graduated from Fowler High School in 1972. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Fresno State College. He engaged in farming earlier in life, and for the last 24 years, was a Landscape Estimator for Nish-ko Landscape Concepts & Design in Fresno. Ken had a wide range of social friends, enjoying golf, horse racing and regular visits to Morro Bay, Pismo Beach and the nearby coast. He was a longtime fan of the Fresno State Bulldogs football and basketball teams and the Fowler High Redcats. Forty Niner and Dodger games were high lights for him. He was a “foody” and knew how to cook for large and small groups. You could always count on “Kenny.”
He was generous with his time to help others and a compassionate caregiver for his aunt and uncle, George and Mary Teraoka of Fowler, as well as his cousin, Robert Teraoka. He established a bi-weekly tradition of cooking Wednesday night dinners for them. He was such a jovial and outgoing person who looked for the best in others. Kenny always left you with a smile on your face. He was active in the Buddhist Church of Fowler, having served as President, and oversaw the Church Endowment Fund and was a member of the Church golf club. He is survived by many cousins, grand cousins and lifelong friends.
