He was a 1966 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, located just down the road from his childhood home. He performed duties on the U.S.S. Midway during the Vietnam conflict as an Aviation Electrician working on aircraft for two years while serving his country in the Navy. He later relocated to Grand Junction, CO, to raise a family with his wife and worked for the Federal Bureau of Reclamation as a Geologist, displaying dedication and safety to the repair, design, and maintenance of waterways across his home state of Colorado.
Kent truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, fishing, mountain biking, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Kent had a natural ear for music, especially guitar, which he would often play for his children and was involved in his church’s praise band throughout much of his life. He had a natural air of patience and an easygoing, loving personality and was a great father and grandfather.
He is survived by his brother, Gary (Bev) Dow, whom resides in California and by his sister, Brynn Gioia, whom resides in Colorado; as well as his three children Sadi Foshe, Troy (Sloan) Dow, and Addie (Justin) Krosschell; along with his seven grandchildren many other relatives.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Kent touched are invited to Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO, on Friday July 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
