Larry has been a friend for 27 years. He helped me buy my first home 19 years ago. He carried the loan for 2 years & I never missed a payment. Some of those neighbors became lifelong friends.

He attended many social events and always had a smile & a kind, encouraging word for everyone.

He often told me stories of growing up & how he was so poor that he & his brother had to sleep in the same room and the same bed. The room was so tiny, the bed took up the whole room & they could hardly walk into the room.

Larry was a self-made man. He worked harder than anyone to build an incredible life & legacy for his family. He built and owned many businesses, even a grocery store - but building homes & dreams for others was his greatest passion.

He told me how meeting Penny Nichelini changed his life forever. He worshipped her. His sweet Pen.

When I struggled in life or business, he was always there to help. He sent his own personal accountant to come work for us, Tony Takikawa. Because he trusted him, then so did I. He became our CFO and guided us through some intimidating audits for years.

Each time I failed, Larry was always there to pick me up, dust me off & give me business advice.

25 years ago, he picked us up in his Rolls Royce on my wedding day (chauffeur hat & all) & drove us around so we had a moment to ourselves. Thatโ€™s one of the only single moments I recall - the rest was a blur!

He died doing what he loved - building houses. He spent the last 4 years building a new home with his own hands for he & his bride of 56 years.

Their new home would have been finished by his birthday this week on January 25th.

Maybe it was because he looked and acted like my Grandad, who died when I was 9....

Maybe it was because he was smart, funny, handsome, generous & kind....

I love Larry like my own Dad. For all the obvious reasons. He was truly there for me & my family like family. The way it counts.

Rest In Peace, Larry
