Lelia Ann Alsup, a devoted and kind-hearted individual, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on December 9, 1931, to James Leroy Hinks and May Elizabeth Taylor. Lelia was known for her faithful and selfless nature, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and warmth.
Lelia was blessed with a loving family, including two daughters, Leanne Caldwell (Mike Caldwell) and Deanne Katen (Ed Katen), and two sons, Daniel K. Alsup (Sandy Alsup) and Don Alsup, all residents of California. She is also survived by her brothers, Jim and Bill Hinks, and her sister, Connie Porcher (Tom Porcher). Her family extended to ten grandchildren: Dean, Dallas, Trisha, Traci Alsup, Michelle Caldwell, Kymber Azevedo (Shane), Kristal Leach (Patrick), Johnny, Lilly, and Molly, as well as eight great-grandchildren, Blake, Stella, Sawyer, Isabella, Mia, Reagan, Sloan and Serena. Lelia was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Keith.
Lelia enjoyed a fulfilling career as a teacher's aide, enriching the lives of others for 20 years. Her personal interests included crocheting and knitting, where she demonstrated her craftiness. She was also an excellent cook and a delightful baker. Her involvement with her community was significant, as she was very active in her church, New Covenant Community Church, and volunteered at Hylond.
The family acknowledges with much gratitude the wonderful care that was taken of their beloved Lelia by the care team at Five Start Assisted Living. Special thanks to MaryAnn, Gilbert, and Jasmine for their commitment to taking wonderful care of Lelia.
A Celebration of Lelia's life will be held at New Covenant Community Church, located at 1744 E Nees Ave, Fresno, CA 93720, on January 9, 2026, at 10:00 am. Internment will directly follow at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 N Teilman Ave, Fresno, CA 93706, at 1:00 pm.
Lelia's selfless spirit and creative legacy will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
